Summary of report content

Healthwatch Darlington's Annual Report covers the following topics: highlights from our year, how we’ve made a difference, helping you find the answers, our volunteers, our finances, our plans for next year.

This past year, 880 people shared their health and social care story with Darlington via surveys and outreach activity, they visited 42 services and 7 community events to understand people's experiences of care, and 288,971 people engaged with them through their website and social media.

Darlington have tackled barriers to accessing mental health services for people with an addiction by setting up focus groups to speak to local service users and providing recommendations to services. They conducted two children and young people's surveys across the summer months in 2018 to find suggestions for improvement. Darlington have also collaborated with the North East, leading to funding from NHS England and NHS improvement. Darlington created a project focused on Black, Minority, and Ethnic (BME) communities GP registration and accessibility.
