Summary of report content

Healthwatch Herefordshire engaged with 35 groups in Q4 asking people about the following projects they have been running: dementia, children & young people's mental health, outpatients at hospital, NHS long term plan, voting on our work priorities for next year and HomeFirst reablement. This report talks about each project in more detail, in terms of what they plan to do and what has already been done.

This report also talks about the type of feedback, information & advice Healthwatch Herefordshire received in Q4.

Healthwatch Herefordshire have made the following recommendations based on the findings from their engagements: having varied methods of distributing trusted information for families/carers, producing a campaign to highlight the benefits of an early diagnosis and advice on prevention, easy and accessible information on planning for RESPECT care (Advance care planning, Lasting Power of Attorney, social care funding, Continuing Healthcare), expanding on Dementia friendly communities (Hairdressers, shops, banks etc.), developing a Meeting Centre provision in areas such as Bromyard, Ledbury & Hereford, providing support with form filling and education sessions for carers, and thinking about respite in alternative non-traditional ways.
