Healthwatch Doncaster undertook an enter and view visit to Oldfield House on the 5th March 2019 at 10:45am.
They found many positive features about Oldfield House, such as the home generally having a good
atmosphere, interactions between staff and residents being positive and the environment was clean and tidy. However, some minor improvements could ensure a more dementia friendly environment, which motivated the following recommendations from Healthwatch Doncaster: to ensure that toilets are dementia friendly with contrasting toilet seats and to use dementia friendly signage around the building. It was recommended that notice boards were de-cluttered and information was up to date, to consider having a newsletter for residents outlining what was planned, and to ensure safety features such as alarm cords were accessible.
This report contains a service provider response which informs us that they have implemented some changes as a result of the recommendations Healthwatch Doncaster provided.
