Summary of report content

Healthwatch Windsor, Ascot and Maidenhead undertook an Enter and View visit to Boulters Lock Residential Home on 16 November 2018.  This was part of a programme of visits to residential homes in 2018/19 as social care had been identified as a priority. During the visit, Healthwatch were able to talk to approximately half the residents and 3 visiting families.

The report considers the staffing and atmosphere of the home, the level of interaction between staff and residents, the activities on offer, how easy it was for residents to have visitors, the facilities, whether residents felt happy at the home, nutrition and hydration, access to healthcare,, whether residents feel safe and whether they knew what to do if they had a concern.

There were 9 recommendations about snacks, activities, memory boxes, residents’ safety and complaints.  The report includes feedback from the provider in relation to each of the recommendations.
