Healthwatch Sheffield conducted an Enter and View visit in, November 2018, to Park View Residential Home. This visit was arranged as part of Healthwatch Sheffield's Enter and View schedule.
The report found that: Staff retention was good allowing residents to get to know them; Steps were taken to care for residents as individuals with consideration of their personal needs; The home environment was in good condition but some areas needed replacing; and a range of activities were offered by two Activity Coordinators. It was observed that staff had positive attitudes and had a range of training opportunities. Residents had regular access to health professionals who visit the home regularly and can be contacted outside of these visits.
The Enter and View representatives have recommended that the home: ensures residents and relatives are involved in the planning of refurbishments; continue to provide regular activities; and implement the "you said, we did" board to demonstrate the differences that residents and visitors meetings make.
The service provider response was positive and provided an explanation for some observations made in the report as well as implied changes that have been suggested.
