Summary of report content

Healthwatch Newcastle gathered the views of service users with age-related macular degeneration during April 2017, working in collaboration with the Newcastle Eye Centre.  They spoke to 97 service users.

Overall feedback was very positive about the services provided by the Newcastle Eye Centre, including the staff.  People wanted shorter waiting times at the Newcastle Eye Centre. They also wanted information about the support available to them in the community.

Service users made a number of suggestions about improving their care, resulting in 13 recommendations, which the local Trust is committed to taking forward.
