Layton Medical Centre is a GP practice which is located in the Central East neighbourhood of Blackpool.

The visit was arranged as part of Healthwatch Blackpool’s enter and view schedule and was conducted on 18th September and 21st September 2017 with 52 patients giving their reviews on the medical centre.

Observation by the enter and view representatives reported that:

The environment appeared clean and tidy and the surgery was in the process of moving into a new building.

The practice also received an amber for the overall quality rating as even though the majority of patients said they were happy with medical staff, a small number of patients were ‘unsatisfied’ with the care provided to them.

It was also reported that most patients had not heard of the surgeries Patient Participation Group.

The enter and view team raised some issues based on their findings with the practice manager stating what action has been taken to address these.
