Summary of report content

Healthwatch St Helens conducted an enter and view visit to Cedric House in Prescot. It is a care home with capacity for 20 residents and currently hosts 19 who are all at differing stages of dementia.

The visiting team used observation through the senses and talking with staff and clients where applicable to get a general feel for the environment and care being delivered. However it was difficult to engage with clients and almost all of the clients had some level of dementia.

The residents on the whole seemed happy and relaxed.

9 recommendations were made and the report contains a provider response detailing what changes will be made.
