This is a report which was written by Healthwatch Bolton detailing people’s views on Bolton Young People’s views on Technology.
There were 21 people who took part with semi-structured interviews giving their views about the services offered to young people at both The Parallel and within the local area which was carried out in April 2017.
The majority of the people interviewed were aged 16/17 with one third being male and two thirds being female.
Within the interviews, three general areas were covered which were to get people’s views on their:
Preferred practitioners
Views on location/timing of services
Thoughts on the acceptability of technology in healthcare

The majority of people interviewed said they wouldn’t mind getting their medical information by text but they wouldn’t consider using Skype for a medical appointment.
Mixed feelings of attitudes to Instagram where 50% would not follow.
The report contains mixed comments about young people’s attitudes to technology within health. Healthwatch Bolton produced a conclusion on the findings and made recommendations but there were no response following this.
