Summary of report content

This report covers hospitals in Blackpool and Lancashire and was written in partnership between Blackpool Healthwatch and Lancashire Healthwatch. The report was published July, 2017.

A visually impaired Healthwatch volunteer made a 'mystery shop' trip to local hospitals, the volunteer used a guide dog. The observations of the volunteer form the main part of the report, though other visually impaired people's experiences have been included where relevant.

Not every provider has responded to the report, though there are responses from University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust.
