Healthwatch Cumbria conducted an Enter and View on Winters Park Residential Home, Cumbria, a privately owned residential home. The visit was conducted on21st June 2017.
The visit was arranged as part of Healthwatch Cumbria's enter and view schedule.
Observation by the enter and view representatives reported that:
The homw was well maitained and had nice well maintained gardens.
Entrance to the home was secure and information was available.
There were 41 beds in the home which is run by BUPA but some residents were funded by local authority.
General acces to healthcare sevices was good.
A District Nurse visits daily to see the residents and carry out any treatment. The manager told them that it was difficult to get a domiciliary visit from a dentist.The home also gets regular visits from an Optician and both Private and a NHS visit regularly.
There were activities for the residents but at the time of the visit there was no activity coordinator. The home was in the process of employing one.
Meal times were protected and all food was prepared on the premises.
Residents were happy with the food provided.
