Healthwatch Cumbria conducted an Enter and View on Ostley House Care Home, Cumbria, a privately owned care home . The visit was conducted on 21st June 2017.

The visit was arranged as part of Healthwatch Cumbria's enter and view schedule.

Observation by the enter and view representatives reported that:

The home residents all have some degree of visual impairment and as such all signage and information are displayed in a way as to best help them in reading it.

The home embraced technology and used various methods to assist residents with visual impairments.

The residents stated how caring the staff were and that the home was always clean and well maintained.

Everybody spoken too was happy with the care they received.

All residents had good access to health care services when required.

All residents spoken too were happy with food provided by the home. All food was prepared on site.

There were plenty of varied activities organised for the residents including visits to the home and trips away from the home if requested.
