Healthwatch Kingston upon Hull is the independent health and social care champion. Local Healthwatch is in place to gather the views and experiences of people accessing services, to use this information to influence decisions and to provide information and advice to the local community about health and social care services.

These Enter and View visits are ‘announced’ visits where they notify the provider of their intention to visit. Healthwatch Kingston upon Hull visited Ashdale Lodge on 12th June 2017 at 1.15pm.

The report highlights Ashdale Lodge has many areas of good practice. These include: Signage in the home is clear and appropriately placed; the daily menu is very well advertised; interactions between members of staff and residents were friendly and professional; the communal living/dining area on the ground floor was clean and tidy.

They also found the following areas for improvement: outward methods of communication for residents with capacity, and

mobility issues.
