Healthwatch Warrington conducted an Enter and View on U & I Care, a residential care home in Warrington which has 6 bedrooms and offers residential, weekend, short break and day service support for young adults with learning difficulties, autism and complex needs. The visit was conducted on 20th December 2016.
Observation by the enter and view representatives reported that:
It was felt that the care and support in the home was holistic and person-centred with no evidence of a “one size fits all” culture. The home has detailed person-centred plans for the young people with each young person having 4 targets set for the month ahead.
It was also observed that the team at the home were open, cheerful and very relaxed in the way that they communicated together in an environment that seemed to be “a home from home”. Staff members were very positive about working at the home.
The home which is a modern dormer bungalow, sitting in a residential cul-de-sac, not looking significant different to its neighbouring properties. It is clean and well maintained.
After the visit was concluded, the home received recommendations which were to keep up the great work, review the website, continue to support staff and also to consider to put a discrete name plaque on the outside of Burton House
There was no response from the staff provider.
