Summary of report content

Healthwatch Portsmouth wanted to understand whether the Student Wellbeing Service offered by the University of Portsmouth was beneficial to students experiencing mental health problems.  They obtained 11 responses to a survey.

Overall the findings seem to confirm that the services themselves are adequate and helpful for the needs of the students, with genuinely good reviews about how it helped the students with the overall university life. Most students who used the service would also recommend it to peers which points to an overall good experience using the service.

Poorer responses are seemingly linked to the time taken for the service to respond to their needs.  This suggests that many students may not be aware of the service.

The report concludes with 3 recommendations about improving awareness of the service.
