Summary of report content

The Assessment Rehabilitation Centre is a rehabilitation and assessment centre aimed at supporting older adults who require physiotherapy which would be better served outside hospital but difficult to deliver at home. The home has capacity for up to 33 people.

The visit was arranged as part of Healthwatch Blackpool’s enter and view schedule and was conducted on 27th June 2016 where 15 individuals were asked for their views.

Observation by the enter and view representatives reported that:

There was a mixed response from the people who were spoke to during the visit. People were very positive about the food and felt that staff were extremely supportive. However, it appeared there were a few issues around activities and being involved in decisions in their care.

The care home was given some minor recommendations surrounding activities, care, information around how to raise an issue and also the involvement of residents about their care.

The service provider was given the opportunity to offer feedback on these recommendations. However, they did not provide a response.
