Summary of report content

In September 2026, Healthwatch Cheshire East carried out an Enter and View visit to Wrenbury Nursing Home, a 33-bed nursing home supporting people living with dementia and a range of complex care needs. The visit included observations of the home environment, discussions with staff and management, and feedback from five relatives and friends of residents.

The visit found a calm, welcoming and person-centred environment where residents were supported with dignity, respect and compassion. Relatives spoke positively about the quality of care, communication with staff and the varied programme of activities available to residents. Healthwatch observed positive interactions between staff and residents, strong links with families and good use of residents’ life histories to support personalised care. Recommendations focused on improving the visibility of the complaints procedure, considering environmental adaptations to support mobility and dementia-friendly navigation, and exploring ways to make outdoor spaces more accessible. The provider welcomed the findings and accepted the recommendations, outlining actions to strengthen accessibility, communication and environmental improvements.
