Summary of report content

This Enter and View report reviews the quality of care provided at Clover Residents, a small residential care home supporting people with learning disabilities and dementia. Healthwatch Hounslow visited the service to observe the environment, speak with staff and identify areas of good practice and opportunities for improvement.

The review found that residents appeared well cared for and staff were friendly and committed to supporting those living at the service. However, a number of concerns were identified relating to the physical environment, maintenance, infection prevention, staff supervision, training, documentation and care planning. Healthwatch also noted concerns regarding moving and handling practices, emergency procedures, management oversight and the availability of meaningful activities for residents.

Healthwatch Hounslow concluded that while staff demonstrated a caring approach, improvements were required to ensure a consistently safe, well-managed and person-centred service. Recommendations included upgrading the environment, strengthening training and supervision arrangements, improving communication and handover processes, reviewing safety procedures and enhancing opportunities for resident engagement and activity.
