Healthwatch Walsall undertook an Enter and View visit to Parkside Medical Practice on 2 September 2026.
The visit found that patients were generally very positive about the practice and described staff as friendly, helpful and professional. Patients reported good experiences of care and treatment, felt listened to by clinicians and were satisfied with the cleanliness and overall environment of the surgery. Many patients also said they were able to access appointments when needed and appreciated the support provided by the wider practice team.
Healthwatch identified a number of strengths, including positive patient-staff relationships, clear communication from clinicians and a welcoming atmosphere within the practice. Patients valued being treated with dignity and respect and felt confident in the quality of care they received. Staff also spoke positively about teamwork and their commitment to supporting patients.
Areas for improvement included increasing awareness of support available for carers, strengthening promotion of the Patient Participation Group and ensuring information about feedback and complaints processes is clearly visible and accessible. Healthwatch also identified opportunities to further improve accessibility and patient information within the practice. Overall, the report concluded that Parkside Medical Practice was providing a positive patient experience with only a small number of recommendations for further enhancement.
