Healthwatch Norfolk undertook research on patient experiences of Aylsham Market Surgery in August 2026. They spoke to 17 people and received feedback with an average rating of 4.2 out of 5. The surgery was generally viewed positively, with many patients praising the quality of care they received.
Patients frequently described staff as kind, friendly, caring and supportive. Many said they felt listened to during appointments and were satisfied with the treatment and support they had received. Several respondents reported being able to access appointments when needed and highlighted positive experiences of ongoing care for long-term health conditions.
The main concerns related to accessing appointments and contacting the surgery by telephone. Some patients reported long waits for appointments, difficulties getting through on the phone and concerns that increasing local housing development could place additional pressure on services. A small number also raised concerns about privacy at the reception desk and waiting times for appointments once they had arrived at the surgery.
Overall, feedback suggested that patients valued the professionalism and compassion of staff and were generally satisfied with the care provided. However, improving telephone access and reducing difficulties in booking appointments were identified as the main areas for improvement.
