Healthwatch Warwickshire’s 2015/16 annual report highlights its work to understand people’s experiences of health and social care and use their views to influence local services. During the year, Healthwatch and its partners gathered views from more than 1,600 people, alongside engagement through community workshops, advice and information services and its Enter and View programme.
Enter and View teams visited 45 GP surgeries and four care homes during 2015/16, speaking with 1,639 patients in GP surgeries and making recommendations to improve people’s experiences. The report highlights examples of impact, including improvements to appointment booking, communication about delays and patient information within GP practices. It also covers work on mental health, domiciliary care, general practice and hospital care, including support for people raising concerns or making complaints about services.
The report sets out Healthwatch Warwickshire’s priorities for 2016/17, including end of life care, mental health, cancer, domiciliary care and social care assessments, alongside its work to strengthen engagement with local communities and ensure people’s experiences inform decision making
