Enter and view: Rose Court

Healthwatch Luton carried out an Enter and View visit to Rose Court on 12 February 2026. Rose Court provides residential support for adults with learning disabilities and autistic people. Overall, Healthwatch found the home to be clean, well maintained and welcoming, with a calm atmosphere and staff who supported residents in a respectful and responsive way. Residents reported being happy living at the home and were observed using communal areas comfortably. 

Residents were supported to take part in a wide range of activities both at home and in the community, including bowling, cinema visits, coffee mornings, shopping trips, baking, puzzles and day trips. Staff also used Makaton where needed to support communication and engagement. Residents were encouraged to make choices about daily routines, meals and activities, and were supported to maintain contact with family and friends. 

The main areas for improvement related to information, activities and the environment. Healthwatch found limited visible information about residents’ rights, health promotion or how to make a complaint. Activity schedules were not displayed, signage within the home was limited, and parts of the garden were overgrown and not fully usable. However, no significant concerns about care quality were identified.

Healthwatch concluded that Rose Court provides a positive, person-centred service that promotes independence and community involvement. Recommendations focused on improving the visibility of information for residents, displaying activity plans, improving signage and maintaining outdoor spaces to maximise opportunities for wellbeing and engagement.
