Enter and view: Mulberry Court

Healthwatch Luton carried out an Enter and View visit to Mulberry Court on 9 June 2026. The home provides residential, dementia and respite care for up to 84 residents. Overall, Healthwatch found a clean, welcoming and well-maintained environment with a calm atmosphere. Residents spoke positively about the care they received, describing staff as caring, approachable and respectful, and reported feeling safe and supported.

Residents were complimentary about the food, activities and opportunities to socialise. Healthwatch observed residents enjoying communal areas, listening to music and taking part in daily life around the home. The home offered a varied programme of activities, regular residents’ meetings, a café area for visitors, attractive outdoor spaces and hydration stations providing snacks and drinks throughout the day. Residents also reported having choice and control over daily routines, meals and activities.

Staff described a positive working environment with good teamwork, regular training and supportive management. Healthwatch found evidence of a person-centred approach, with staff adapting support to individual needs and promoting residents’ independence. Residents had access to a range of healthcare services, including regular GP visits, district nursing support, dental services and opticians.

Healthwatch identified no major concerns. The only recommendation was to continue developing staff knowledge of medication management, particularly around recognising side effects and complications. Overall, the report concluded that Mulberry Court provides a caring, supportive and person-centred service that promotes residents’ wellbeing, dignity and independence.
