This report summarises feedback received by Healthwatch Oxfordshire from 194 people about their experiences of using the John Radcliffe, Horton General, Churchill and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre hospitals between August 2025 and July 2026.
The feedback was gathered through Healthwatch Oxfordshire's online Feedback Centre, by telephone, email and paper 'Have Your Say' forms. In addition, Healthwatch Oxfordshire heard more broadly about people's experiences of hospital services through outreach activities, research surveys and community research projects.
Many people shared positive experiences of care, highlighting the kindness, professionalism and respect shown by staff. People also described receiving good-quality care and feeling listened to and supported. However, concerns were raised about difficulties accessing appropriate treatment, poor coordination and continuity of care, and long waits for appointments, treatment, referrals and test results.
Healthwatch Oxfordshire has shared this report with Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which manages the four hospitals, and Thames Valley Integrated Care Board, which commissions these services. The findings have also been presented to the Oxfordshire Health Improvement and Overview Scrutiny Committee.
