Healthwatch Norfolk visited Northgate Community Diagnostic Centre in Great Yarmouth in July 2026 to gather patient feedback about the service. The centre provides a range of diagnostic services including CT scanning, echocardiography, sleep studies, Holter monitoring and liver FibroScans. During the visit, 12 patients shared their experiences, resulting in an average rating of 5 out of 5, matching the rating received during the previous Healthwatch visit.
Patients were overwhelmingly positive about the service, particularly highlighting the efficiency of appointments, short waiting times and the professionalism of staff. Many described being seen promptly, receiving clear explanations about procedures and being treated in a friendly and reassuring manner. Staff were frequently praised for being approachable, knowledgeable and putting people at ease during their appointments.
Healthwatch noted several positive aspects of the environment, including good signage, accessible facilities, varied seating options and the addition of vending and hot drinks machines in response to feedback received during an earlier visit. Many patients appreciated attending the Northgate site rather than travelling to the main hospital, citing convenience, ease of access and generally better parking arrangements.
While feedback was almost entirely positive, a small number of patients reported difficulties with parking due to limited spaces and highlighted challenges for pedestrians navigating pathways around the site. Despite these concerns, the overall experience was viewed very favourably, with patients repeatedly describing the service as efficient, friendly, professional and well organised.
