Summary of report content

Healthwatch Greenwich carried out an Enter and View visit to All Saints Medical Centre in Plumstead, speaking with seven patients. Overall, feedback was highly positive, with patients describing the practice as clean, welcoming and easy to access. Patients were particularly satisfied with the quality of care provided by GPs and nurses, and the surgery benefited from a stable and experienced reception team that patients felt knew them well.

Patients consistently praised the clinical care they received, with one GP, Dr Lee, receiving particularly strong feedback for being caring, attentive and thorough. Most patients felt involved in decisions about their care and reported that clinicians explained conditions and treatments clearly. The practice was also rated highly for cleanliness, access, prescription services and staff helpfulness.

The main concern raised was the punctuality of appointments. While most patients were satisfied with appointment availability and could usually obtain an appointment within a day, many reported that consultations often ran late. Healthwatch also identified several opportunities to improve information available in the waiting area, including better promotion of GP Access Hubs, translation and interpreting services, online services and the Patient Participation Group. The waiting area was found to have limited facilities for children and no visible hand sanitiser at the time of the visit.

Healthwatch concluded that All Saints Medical Centre provides a well-regarded service with high levels of patient satisfaction. Recommendations included improving appointment punctuality, increasing signposting to available services, creating a child-friendly area in the waiting room, installing hand sanitiser stations, making complaints information more visible, and reviewing patient registration policies to ensure they fully reflect NHS guidance on identification and proof-of-address requirements.
