Healthwatch Sefton held an Information Hub event in partnership with St Leonard's YCC Pantry in Bootle on 11 June 2026. The event aimed to raise awareness of local health, care and community services, connect residents with support organisations and gather feedback about local needs. A range of voluntary, community, NHS and support organisations attended, providing information, advice and signposting to local residents.
Feedback from residents was overwhelmingly positive. All respondents who completed evaluation forms said they found the information stalls helpful and felt welcomed by the organisations present. Residents particularly valued learning about local services, receiving advice about healthcare and community support, and having their concerns listened to and taken seriously. Many reported feeling more confident about finding support in the future as a result of attending the event.
Participating organisations also reported positive outcomes, including increased engagement with local residents, improved awareness of available services and valuable networking opportunities with other community organisations. Stall holders highlighted the importance of community-based outreach in reaching people who may be digitally excluded or unaware of available support.
Overall, Healthwatch Sefton concluded that the event successfully connected residents with information, advice and support in a trusted community setting. Future plans include expanding the Information Hub model into other neighbourhoods, strengthening partnership working and increasing promotion to encourage even greater community participation.
