Summary of report content

Healthwatch Windsor, Ascot and Maidenhead report on its key achievements for 2025/26.  It:

  • Influenced local healthcare planning through a major women’s health project, ensuring the views of 580 women informed NHS work on women’s health services, waiting times, information provision and culturally appropriate support.
  • Improved the quality of care in local care homes through Enter & View visits, leading to dementia-friendly adaptations, improved signage, enhanced resident involvement and greater focus on resident wellbeing.
  • Ensured residents’ experiences shaped improvements to hospital services and patient information, highlighting issues around communication, discharge processes and accessibility while helping providers develop clearer and more inclusive information.
  • Amplified the voices of underrepresented communities by influencing the Frimley New Hospital Programme, local autism strategy development, and wider health and wellbeing planning, ensuring people with lived experience helped shape future services.
  • Reached diverse and seldom-heard communities, including carers, people with learning disabilities, people with sensory impairments, faith communities and residents at risk of health inequalities, helping ensure their experiences informed local decision-making.
