Summary of report content

Healthwatch Slough report on its key achievements for 2025/26.  It:

  • Influenced local healthcare planning through a major women’s health project, ensuring the views of 580 women informed NHS work on women’s health services, waiting times, information provision and culturally appropriate support.
  • Improved the quality of care in local care homes through Enter & View visits, leading to dementia-friendly adaptations, improved signage, enhanced resident involvement and plans for new sensory spaces.
  • Ensured residents’ experiences shaped improvements to hospital services, highlighting issues around communication, discharge processes and waiting times while also promoting examples of good practice.
  • Amplified the voices of underrepresented communities through work on Neighbourhood Health, Refugee Week events, and targeted engagement with people at greater risk of health inequalities, helping shape local diabetes prevention and support programmes.
  • Improved access to information, advice and support, helping over 14,000 people find information on issues such as mental health, NHS dentistry, complaints processes and long-term health conditions.
