Summary of report content

Healthwatch Doncaster report on its key achievements for 2025/26.  It:

  • Improved audiology services by gathering residents’ experiences, helping deliver a large Audiology Action Day attended by over 200 people, and securing ongoing engagement between NHS services and the Deaf community.
  • Strengthened the voice of carers and young people, co-producing safeguarding information, influencing complaints processes, and helping shape services through targeted engagement with seldom-heard groups.
  • Influenced the redesign of urgent and emergency care, ensuring the experiences of Deaf, sight-impaired and neurodiverse residents were reflected in future service plans.
  • Supported more inclusive healthcare by helping a Doncaster GP practice become the first in South Yorkshire to achieve Pride in Practice accreditation, improving access and experiences for LGBTQ+ communities.
  • Helped residents overcome barriers to care through information, advocacy and signposting, including supporting individuals to access faster treatment, specialist services and clearer health information.
