Healthwatch Greenwich report on its key achievements for 2015/16. It:
- Conducted a major GP access review, carrying out Enter and View visits at five GP practices and securing practical improvements, while identifying appointment booking and patient participation as key issues.
- Completed a significant dementia research project, engaging 130 people with dementia and carers. Findings directly informed Greenwich's Living Well with Dementia Strategy and secured Healthwatch a place on the Dementia Implementation Group.
- Enabled service users to influence the design of the new Greenwich Home Support service by recruiting, training and supporting a service user tender panel to assess bidders.
- Evaluated the Greenwich Integrated Care (Eltham Test and Learn) programme, helping shape the wider rollout of the Care Navigator model through recommendations on patient support and reducing social isolation.
- Strengthened engagement with seldom-heard communities, including migrant, Somali, deaf, visually impaired and older people groups, while collecting 804 pieces of feedback from local residents about health and care services.
