Summary of report content

Healthwatch Lancashire report on their key achievements for 2019/20.  They:

  • Engaged with 8,000 people, visited 195 services and community events, and continued expanding its reach through digital engagement and community partnerships.
  • Completed 27 Enter and View visits to care homes, leading to improvements in areas such as activities, food quality, communication, signage and the care environment. 
  • Influenced the implementation of the NHS Long Term Plan locally through surveys, focus groups and case studies, ensuring the views of Lancashire residents shaped system-wide planning. 
  • Worked with Lancashire County Council and care home residents to identify what quality in care homes means to the people who use them, helping inform future service improvements. 
  • Supported major collaborative projects through Healthwatch Together, including redesigning children and young people's mental health services and developing cancer screening resources for people with learning disabilities.
