Healthwatch Southampton conducted a survey contacting GP practices (including branches) in Southampton. Throughout April 2017 they contacted each practice within SO14 - SO19 (including branches) and asked whether practices currently operated (or were in the process of establishing) a Patient Participation Group (PPG).

28 practices (including branches) currently operate a PPG in some form. This represents 76% of all practices in Southampton. Five of those without one were setting one up.

11 of the 28 branches that currently operate a PPG have a purely virtual PPG that do not hold in-person meetings
