Healthwatch Reading undertook an enter and view visit to Milman Road Health Centre on 27 January 2016. They spoke to 17 people.
Key findings
- 11 out of 17 patients were happy with the quality of care, treatment and service they received
- Just over half – 9/17 were happy with the surgery’s opening hours
- 11 out of 17 said seeing a preferred doctor or nurse was important to them but only 3 said they achieved this
- Some people could not get same-day urgent appointments
- People can pick up a ‘patient confidentiality’ slip at reception and hand it to the receptionist if they need to have a private conversation about their appointment needs
- The noticeboard has information for pregnant women, including photos of the midwife-led unit (Rushey Birth Centre) at the Royal Berkshire Hospital)
