Healthwatch Kingston upon Thames undertook an enter and view visit to Surbitonian Gardens on 4, 11 and 24 February 2026

Overall, Healthwatch found Surbitonian Gardens to be a friendly, welcoming, clean and well-organised home. Across three visits in February, they identified some minor issues, mainly involving agency staff, with residents, relatives and staff reporting occasional problems due to limited knowledge of, or communication about, residents’ individual needs.

They observed frequent visits from relatives and heard positive feedback from staff about the current manager’s impact on the home. They observed mealtimes, an organised activity and preparations for a mobile library visit, and spoke with seven residents, three relatives and nine staff members.
