Summary of report content

Healthwatch Isles of Scilly set out key issues raised with them and their predecessor organisation to NHS Kernow Health and Care Planning Workshop on 24 July 2013.

The issues raised include:

  • Easy access to good quality care, particularly GP and dentistry
  • Poor access to optical care
  • Long waits for physiotherapy
  • The need to travel to get healthcare on the mainland
  • A perception that beds in the local community hospital are underused
  • Concerns about recruitment and staffing for domiciliary care
