Summary of report content

Healthwatch Cumberland made an unannounced enter and view revisit of Dalton Court Care Home on 11 March 2026.  They spoke to 15 people.

Healthwatch Cumberland staff were given a tour of the L-shaped building upon arrival including their lounge areas, seating areas in corridors and bathroom facilities. Upon each floor there are also two dining areas with the first-floor dining room having a mountain view. There is secure fencing and doors at external entrances ensuring the safety of residents. Furthermore, there is a large garden patio space with seating for residents to enjoy. Every room has en-suite bathrooms and rooms appeared to be decorated in the same way as the rest of the home.

Residents were largely content with the food and care provided, but wanted more activities.  Staff raised concerns about staffing and training.
