The report describes an announced Enter and View re-visit carried out by Healthwatch Telford and Wrekin at Priory House Nursing and Residential Home on 14 January 2026. The purpose of the visit was to follow up on recommendations made during an earlier visit in July 2025 and to assess what improvements had been made since that time.
During the visit, the Authorised Representative met with the manager and proprietor, discussed actions taken in response to previous feedback, and toured the home. It was noted that visibility of external signage had been significantly improved, making the home easier to find for visitors. All staff were seen wearing name badges, and a colour‑coded staff information board had been introduced to clearly explain staff roles.
The environment within the home was observed to be clean, tidy and welcoming. Corridors were clear of obstructions, wall displays contributed to a homely atmosphere, and staff notices had been removed from communal areas to improve the overall appearance of shared spaces. Some bathroom areas were undergoing refurbishment, with coloured toilet seats being considered to better support residents living with dementia.
The home had also introduced a “You said, we did” display to demonstrate that feedback from residents and visitors is listened to and acted upon. Additional safety improvements were highlighted, including a recent upgrade to the fire alarm system and planned refurbishment of the medication room.
Overall, the report concludes that most of the recommendations from the initial visit had been fully actioned, with only the use of coloured toilet seats still under consideration.
