Summary of report content

On 13th December 2024, Healthwatch Sheffield hosted a roundtable conversation with Abtisam Mohamed MP. It was attended by people with professional and personal experience of Adult Social Care. They discussed what a 10-year plan for adult social care should include.

Key themes that emerged in the discussion:

  • Social care packages which do not meet people’s needs
  • The impact on unpaid carers
  • The social care workforce needs to feel valued
  • Some communities do not have faith that Adult Social Care services will meet their cultural needs, or treat them with respect, and therefore do not use them
  • Services are poorly funded
