Summary of report content

In October 2024, Healthwatch Brighton & Hove, Healthwatch East Sussex and Healthwatch West Sussex undertook a short survey of people's experiences of hospital outpatients' letters. 330 people responded.

Over two thirds were satisfied or very satisfied with the letter about their most recent outpatients' appointment.

Respondents wanted to see:

  • Clearer information in letters about appointment details
  • Using digital methods to communicate rather than letters
  • Better information on how to change appointments
